I personally thought the 2005 law was very workable. The medical association certainly doesn't restrict c-sections to 'high risk' women. Isn't performing surgery on a healthy person the definition of mal-practice? The discussion of licensing comes up for us regularly with most midwives against it. My feeling is the legal battles just put midwifery more in the public's eye, increasing awareness and support. Don't give up the fight, you're making history.
